Welcome

Our prayerful longing and chief priority is simple. For people across Manchester to hear the Gospel; come, by God’s grace, to living, saving faith in the Lord Jesus Christ; and grow as his disciples; all for his glory.

We seek to do this by facilitating prayer, fellowship and encouragement amongst our members, and by equipping people through a varied programme of gatherings and training events through the year.

If any of our meetings may be of use to you in your Christian walk and ministry, do come along. You would be very welcome.

If you support what we are about, do consider joining us.

What are our aims?

As a fellowship we aim to:

  • Encourage and unite evangelicals within our diocese.
  • Equip people for ministry, mission and evangelism.
  • Engage for the presence of evangelicals in the structures and life of Manchester Diocese and the wider Church of England.

What do we stand for?

We unite as wide a group as possible within the bounds of our doctrinal basis.

You can read our doctrinal basis here. It is the same as that of the Church of England Evangelical Council.

Our constitution can be read here.

Who is the DEF for?

Our meetings are open to all who regularly worship at churches within Manchester Diocese.

Membership is open to anyone who lives, works, or attends an Anglican church within the Diocese and agrees with our doctrinal basis.

Our committee

Our committee consists of:
James Spence (chair)
Nicola Butterworth (vice-chair)
Paul Sumsion (treasurer)
Margaret Parrett

We would be happy to chat to you if you have questions or we can be of help.
